The Two Stages of a Blushing Problem

People who have a propensity for blushing are not bothered by it at first. They are aware that they blush easily, but are not disconcerted by this. It does not have any major impact on their lives. They just think of it as a passing phase and so continue with their lives as usual.

However, when the blushing does not stop quickly, especially if it appears to get worse, it can turn into a strong fear that makes your life hell for some time. The most annoying thing may actually be that other people cannot see it.

Like most phobias, Erythrophobia starts off harmlessly enough but becomes worse over time. There are two distinct stages - at first you blush easily every now and again, and later, as you become more and more self-conscious, you begin blushing more excessively.

If you do blush easily then it may feel like a problem to you, but until you blush excessively you will have no idea as to just how bad it can get. It can wreak havoc on you physically as well as mentally and can actually lead to a nervous breakdown. It is all you think about and absolutely dominates your life. This can in fact make you blush more.

If you blush easily, it may occur only a few times a week but excessive blushing can happen many times a day. Actually, blushing easily may only be slight blushing but excessive blushing is often extreme and will mentally burn you up.

This can be extremely bothersome and some people get embarrassed because of excessive blushing. However, you can learn to control your blushing over a period of time. You can improve your resistance to it, in a manner of speaking, and also reduce the severity of your blushing.

As you begin to deal with the problem of Erythrophobia it becomes easier over time. However, actually starting to deal with the problem is the most difficult part for a person. If you find any disappointment with your progress, you may become overwhelmed by self-pity and will begin to talk yourself out of it. What makes it worse is that very few people understand the phobia, unless they suffer from it themselves of course.

If you do keep at it and follow through though, you will soon find that it becomes easier as you go along and the progress you make will persuade you to carry on with your self-help. All you need is a small ray of hope and you will soon discover that it becomes much easier to manage your blushing problem. It can even help you to live a normal life again.
